I pledge a portion of the sales of my artwork to support reforestation projects.

Affective from Earth Day of 2020 (that’s April 22nd), I have decided to use my art to give back to the environment. I take so much inspiration from the raw beauty of nature, I thus believe in giving back to her in order to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.

  • Each painting (excluding collaborative works) will donate 10% of the profit towards reforestation. That’s between 50 and 1200 replanted trees per painting sold.

  • Each sticker sold will plant one tree.

  • Each greeting card or small print will plant two trees.

Why Reforestation?

I am passionate in supporting reforestation projects as I believe it has a broad spectrum of synergistic benefits. Here are some of the different ways why trees are so important:

Habitat.jpg

Habitat

Forests are crucial for the survival of a vast majority of animals. Over 80 percent of the worlds terrestrial species depend on trees for their homes. Animal species are becoming extinct at an alarming rate every single day due to deforestation, and many more are in threat.

Air.jpg

Air

We have an interdependent relationship with trees through the air. They produce oxygen and take in carbon dioxide, and we take in oxygen and produce carbon dioxide. Therefore we are vital to each others existence.

Furthermore, trees also filter the air, they absorb harmful gases which contributes to air pollution and release clean oxygen instead.

Employment

At the Eden reforestation project they focus on reforestation in areas of extreme poverty which can create jobs and a livelihood for local people. A $3 donation alone will provide a day of wages that can feed a family of 6.

Water

Trees have a hugely positive effect on water, and act as a filter for water as well as the air. They slow rainfall to help it soak into the earth at a rate that minimizes soil eroding into our waterways. Forests are vital in protecting our drinking water sources such as rivers, reservoirs and lakes. Furthermore they help protect us from natural disasters such as floods and landslides.

Wellbeing.jpg

Well-Being

Trees are so wonderful for our wellbeing in such a vast and wholesome way. Did you know that 25 percent of our medicine consist of key ingredients from trees? Not only do they provide crucial physical benefits such as clean air, water and medicine, but are wonderfully beneficial psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. Anybody who has spent enough time with nature knows how special it is to reconnect to the natural world. A walk in the forest is also greatly affective in reducing stress and anxiety.

Climate

Planting trees is one of the largest and most cost effective ways of reducing carbon emissions in the air, which reduces the effects of global heating.

Also, trees create shade and can be as effective as reducing heat by 8 degrees centigrade (46 fahrenheit) in the summer. Not only is this wonderfully comfortable but also helps save energy.
